What is Whatever Ministries?
Whatever Ministries is the
high school and junior high ministry at First Baptist Church
of Auburn. This ministry is simply a practical way that
we can seek to minister to junior high and high school students.
We are here because we believe God desires us to minister
to junior high and high school students for His honor and
glory.
What is it that Whatever Ministries
is trying to do?
We seek to pursue the biblical
goal of seeing every believer the Lord has put in our fellowship
growing in sanctification and Christ-likeness. We will also
persistently seek the salvation of those who are not saved
but who still happen to be involved in the ministry.
We seek to focus on the biblical
ministry methods of genuine worship in music, expository
preaching of the Scriptures, corporate prayer, discipleship
and equipping. In addition to this we seek to consistently
facilitate outreach and service activities.
We believe that “fun”
activities can be beneficial for building relationships,
sharing life together, and providing a context for deep
and real fellowship to take place.
Our goal is not to be overly
complicated or excessively programmed but to simply be biblical
in what we do.
What is the Relation of Whatever
Ministries to the Rest of the Church?
We believe that student ministries
should inseparably attached to the church, that believing
students are a vital and working part of the church and
that student ministries is dependent on and in need of the
church. We believe that students need to interact not only
with believers of their own age but with believers of all
different ages and maturity levels (1 Corinthians 12:12-18,
Matthew 16:18, 1 Peter 5:5, Titus 2:1-8).
What is the Relation of Whatever
Ministries to the Family?
We believe that student ministries
is and should be only a supplement to what is going on in
believing families. Involvement in student ministries is
a way that student can begin to display their independent
commitment to the church and its role in their lives. As
a student ministries we are currently working towards our
role in exhorting and training parents in their responsibilities
as the primary shepherds and disciplers of their students
(Ephesians 6:1-4, Colossians 3:20-21, Acts 2:42-47, Hebrews
10:24-25).
