As a pastor, my greatest joy is to see people become committed disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ (Matt 28:19-20). I consider it a great blessing to be called of God to lead His people toward Christ-likeness, through the careful teaching of His word (Col 1:28; 2 Tim 3:16-17). I have been married to my beautiful wife Melanie since 1999 and together we have three wonderful children: Alayna, Savannah, and Luke. My family is one of the greatest sources of joy in my life, beyond my walk with Jesus Christ. It is such an honor to be used by God to bring spiritual change to the lives of God's children, and to share the life-changing message of the Gospel with a lost world! My hope is that you would be convinced of this truth too and find a home here among God's people at First Baptist Church.

I love teaching God’s word and equipping the younger generation to be solid disciples of Jesus Christ. This is what God has called me to do for His glory. I’ve also been blessed to have my own family. My wife, Gabriell and I were married in 2016 and a year later, God blessed us with an amazing little boy. My wife and son are amazing and we definitely plan to have more kids. The more kids we have, the more disciples we send out to advance the Kingdom of God. Leading my family towards Christ is one of my greatest privileges and responsibilities in life. I take it very seriously as I do my job as the youth pastor. God has been gracious enough to save me, allow me to shepherd His people, and have a wonderful family of my own. God truly is good.
At the age of thirteen, I picked up a guitar for the first time. I always struggled with a feeling of inadequacy in most subjects, but when I began to play the guitar it felt like something I was supposed to do. The journey to becoming the worship leader at FBC was a long one, but all along the way, I had sensed that the calling placed upon my life was to play music in some capacity. I began to lead worship at the age of fifteen, and off and on over the last twenty-five years I’ve had the opportunity to play with a lot of worship teams. It’s been an incredible learning process and God has taught more and moreover the last few years what it truly means to worship. Worship is about Him, not me. It is for Him, and an offering to Him. As a worship leader, my goal is to unite us together corporately as best as I can and to come together to bring glory to Him who has done Great Things. He is the object and end of our praise because He is worthy. My wife Felicia and I long to grow deeper and deeper in this reality together and desire to experience the presence of God with you as a church. We are both privileged to be a part of the body of people who put a primacy on the teaching of God's word. The verses that I constantly return to are from Ephesians 2:1-10. They constantly remind me of what He has done on my behalf and nurture the desire to worship Him in Spirit and Truth. May we grow in our worship of the Triune God together, for each person of the Godhead is worthy of our adoration.
